The blue moon on Halloween night will not be the only rare sight to see as Lights for Darlene will spark cheer throughout the holiday weekend.
“We are super excited about starting early and doing some extra fundraising to add to our Christmas season,” Stacy Parnell said.
When they began setting up for this year’s Christmas season, Parnell said this year’s Halloween was going to be a tad different because of COVID-19.
“We came up with the idea to shoot for a Halloween show,” She said. “We thought it would be a safe way for kids to get out.”
Hosted by the Parnell family for the second year, Lights for Darlene will run each evening from Oct. 26 to 31 at 5230 Williams Drive in Reno. The light show will be synchronized to music played on 92.3 FM.
Lights for Darlene is organized yearly by brothers Brent and Brad Ford in memory of their mother. All donations made will go toward the American Cancer Society.
Candy bags will be given to children on Oct. 31.
“Excuse our mess, as we will still be working on adding lights for the Christmas show,” Parnell said.
