The Reno Parks and Trail Committee is once again sliding into the Christmas spirit this year, bringing in a 10ft. snow slide to their Winter Wonderland Christmas Festival.

While snow is not in the forecast on Saturday, kids will have a ball sliding down the ‘Mr. Cool Luge’ aka the snow slide in tubes.

Not only will families be able to enjoy the snow, a rarity in our parts, but there will also be holiday shopping, sweets and treats, carolers, Paris Cloggers, games, contests, face painting, and more!

“We will also be having an Ugly Cristmas Sweater contest at 2:30 and encourage all who attend to join in,” said the committee.

Plus there will be a special visit from Santa Claus from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Lamar County Meals on Wheels will be set up at the event collecting small space heaters, gloves, hats and puzzles. Plus Lamar County Adopt-A-Cop will be drawing for their annual fundraiser.

The event is free to te public and will be held at the Kiwanis Park from 12 to 5 p.m. Parking will be at 6800 block of Pine Mill Road, 400 block of Anderson Road and Canaanland Church of God.
