The Lamar County Contender’s Bowling Team hosted more than 100 special needs participants (ages 13+) at the Lake Crook Pavilion on Friday for its 2nd Annual Easter Party.
“I was so moved by the number of participants when I got out in front of the line to take a picture before the egg hunt, it brought tears to my eyes,” said Monica Helm, Contender’s Coach. “Our number grew by at least 30 from last year and hopefully will continue to grow each year.
Helm said the event wouldn’t be possible without help from Freedom Church, Michella Parker with Wheeler Construction, JC Gilliam & Stroke, King Tackle Co, Marshall Sugg with Sugg Cattle Co., the Elks Lodge of Paris, Coy Pryor (DJ), Lamar Trailers and more.
“We are so grateful to all the numerous men and women who donated time and money to come make this a huge success. The smiles and hugs and ‘thank you’ made every second of planning worth it.”
