The student council at Justiss Elementary School recently showcased their commitment to community service through an inspiring initiative. They successfully collected a total of 1,505 pairs of socks to benefit local senior citizens, demonstrating the power of collective effort and compassion.
The collected socks were distributed across eight local facilities, each dedicated to providing care and support to senior citizens. The facilities that received these generous donations were:
Spring Lake Assisted Living and Memory Care, Paris Chalet Senior Living, Legend Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Stillhouse Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Brentwood Terrace Healthcare, ResCare Community Living, Paris Healthcare Center, and Texas Oncology-Paris.
This initiative not only provided much-needed warmth and comfort to the elderly but also strengthened the community ties. It served as a reminder of the importance of caring for our senior citizens and highlighted the role young people can play in bringing about positive change. The student council’s efforts have set a commendable example for their peers and the larger community.
