James Edwin Spears of Pattonville, Texas passed away April 22, 2019 at 70 years of age. He was born January 26, 1949 in Bairdstown, Texas in Lamar County the son of Robert Lee and Lillie Mae (Matney) Spears.
Affectionally known by his family and friends as “Popdad”, an avid hunter who loved his family and working in his garden. He retired from Phillips Lighting/Westinghouse after 42 years of service.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years, Linda Spears of Pattonville, Texas; their children, Steven and Amie Johnson of Cunningham, Texas,
Melissa and Lonnie Flanigan of Waxahachie, Texas, Pam and Jacob Allison, Jr. of Clardy, Texas, and Michel Spears of Pattonville, Texas; grandchildren, Stoney Johnson, Skylar Jo Johnson, Dalton & Erin Spears, Chance Flanigan, Kimberlee Allison, Hunter Allison, and Brandon Spears; great grandchildren, Jayden an Kenadee Spears; brother, Don Spears of Clardy, Texas; sisters, Juanita Currin and Linda Sue Spears both of Paris. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Doyle Lee Spears and a sister, Ruth Ann Spears.
Services will be held in the Gene Roden Memorial Chapel at Roden-Pryor Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 25, 2019. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6:00 t0 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
