William Richard Bowling, 78, of Powderly, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, at Carrus Specialty Hospital in Sherman.
The family has scheduled a visitation from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home. A family directed memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14th at The Gospel Lighthouse in Powderly with Rev. Chris Kelley officiating.
Richard, the son of Williams Holley Bowling and Alpha Omega Bowling, was born May 5, 1945, in Paris, TX. He graduated from Paris High School. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy following five years of service to our country. His career as a Paris Police Officer spanned 8 years from 1977-1985. Following those years he worked 10 years at Auto Zone, 6 years at ABC Auto Parts, and then was a security guard at Turner Pipe until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, William Richard “Rick” Bowling, Jr., his first wife and mother of Michael and Rickey, Marjorie Bowling, a grandson, John Neil Ritchey, a great grandson, Dustin Bowling, a sister, Becky, two brothers, Allen and Roy, fathers-in-law, Roy Philpot, and Maxie Arnold, and a brother-in-law, Doug Philpot.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Philpot Bowling, children, Michael Bowling, Charlie Jones & wife Jori, Wesley Conley & wife Lindsey, Jency Logan & husband Troy, and Roy Ritchey & wife Ashley, grandchildren, Amber Holmes & husband Dayton Binyon, Roy Kyle Bowling & wife Justina, Marjorie Bowling, Nathan Moore, Beverly Bowling, Paris Bowling, Presley Bowling, Taylor Dunn & husband Robert, Sydney Jones, Hunter Jones, Archer Jones, McKenzie Rash & husband Triston, Yasmine, Brinlyn Conley, Megan Lawson, Opal Mae Lawson, Bryson Ritchey, Jakup Ritchey, Shealyn Ritchey, and Benton Ritchey, great grandchildren, Victoria Holmes, Elizabeth Holmes, Haven Binyon, Maverick Binyon, R. J.
