A Hugo, OK, man was sentenced on Tuesday to nearly 30-years in prison for the murder of his wife in 2020.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced in a press release that 74-year old Jeffery Pierce was sentenced to 327 months in prison for one count of murder in the second degree in Indian County.
In 2020, Pierce claimed that his wife, Ronnie, pulled a gun on him during a fight, and investigators said Pierce stabbed her over sixty times.
Because the victim was tribal, the case was prosecuted in federal court.
