Glenda Potter was born on September 13, 1930 to parents, Claude Mace and Bernice (Pelham) in Retrop, Oklahoma. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday (April 30, 2026) at Stillhouse Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at the age of 95.
On the 26th day of October 1946, she married her love of her life, James Andrew Potter, in Wichita, Kansas. They were married over 40 years. They had four children together, Jimmy Vern Potter, Richard Potter, Ronda Segich, and Wadys (Corky) Potter.
After she got married, they lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and started their family. They moved to Southern California and spent several years in Imperial Beach, California. She graduated from Sweetwater Union High School. Then in 1976, Glenda and James moved to Powderly, Texas. She worked in the cafeteria for North Lamar Independent School District for many years before retiring.
She loved being around her family and friends’ get-together. Having potlucks at church, being at school functions, and playing dominoes (42 or 84). Having Thanksgiving and Christmas at her house with all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She attended church faithfully from Lakewood Baptist Church (Powderly, Texas), Powderly Baptist Church, North Park Baptist Church, and the First Baptist Church (Roxton, Texas). She loved the Lord unconditionally.
Glenda is survived by her three children, Jimmy Vern Potter and wife (Teri), Ronda Segich and husband (Darryl), Wadys (Corky) Potter and wife (Donna), many grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband James; parents, Claude Mace and Bernice (Pelham), son, Richard Potter, and grandson Jimmy Salvador Potter.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
