Garth “Skipper” Yeager passed away peacefully at his home on February 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Skipper lived a life rooted in hard work and loyalty to those he loved. He was a proud farmer in Pecan Gap, Texas who found joy and purpose in every season of planting and harvest. Alongside his love for farming, he truly enjoyed his family. He was proud of each and every kid he had a hand in raising. He found his greatest happiness in their love and accomplishments.
His wisdom, humor, and quiet strength will be forever remembered by those who knew and loved him, including his wife of 28 years Debbie Yeager and the kids – Tonya Yeager, Ty Stephens, Jasey Armstrong, Bryan and Kelly Phillips, Nakia Lindsey, Jessie Burns, Heath Phillips, Madison Phillips, Colby Lindsey, Colten Lindsey, Sanford and Marie Mason, Karson Belcher and Berry Jones.
Skipper’s legacy is carried on through his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched with kindness and generosity. He will be missed.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family invites those wishing to honor Skipper to share a story, plant something in his memory, or spend time appreciating the land he loved so much.
