Clear your calendars on March 24th, as local firemen and policemen go head-to-head shooting hoops for a good cause.

“We wanted to put on an event that would be fun for the public to watch but also raise money for a good cause,” said Officer Billy Jordan.

The first annual ‘Gunz and Hosez’ basketball match is being held at the Paris High School starting at 11 a.m. and raising money for Paris High School Crimestoppers.

The friendly rivalry between firemen and police officers will make for an exciting match, along with a live and silent auction being held during the day.

“We’ll take 20 minutes at half-time to do a live auction but will also have a silent auction open during the game for people to bid on smaller items,” said Driver Engineer Cade Oats.

“This will be a fun event for the whole family and we’re looking forward to helping raise money for the Paris High Crimestoppers,” said officer Jordan.

Tickets to the event are only $5 at the door and a full concession stand will be available at the event.

If businesses want to donate items for the auction they can contact Billy Jordan at Crockett on 903-737-7450 or Officer McCarthy at Paris High on 903-737-740 or Driver Engineer Cade Oats on 903-784-4870.

Sponsorship packages are also available for $150 with sponsors receiving a t-shirt, five tickets to the event and their name on a banner.
