Frank Wright Jr, a lifelong Republican and 42-year resident of Lamar County has announced his candidacy for Chairman of the Lamar County Republican Party.
“I’m experienced, I’m qualified, and I’m ready to serve the County Republican Party for another 2 years“, Wright said.
Wright is retired from a 35-year career with the Kimberly-Clark Paris Plant. He began as a Process Engineer, then progressed to Diaper Operations Team Leader, and then to the facility Environmental Coordinator during which time the K-C Paris Plant was the proud recipient of TCEQ’s prestigious Texas Environmental Excellence Award which recognizes the state’s highest level of environmental achievements including best management practices, recycling, and pollution prevention accomplishments. He and his wife Paula were North Lamar Band Boosters and Paris Community Theatre volunteers giving generously of their time and also utilizing the K-C Community Partners program for financial contributions.
Following retirement, Wright became actively involved with the Lamar County Republican Party.
At the Precinct level, he has served four years as Precinct Chairman and regularly works as the Election Day Republican Judge at his precinct’s Primary Elections and General Elections. He built and continues to maintain a Facebook group for his precinct’s Republican voters to share political news, information, and to have respectful discussion. He has door-knocked for Republican candidates, distributed candidate campaign information and signs, and worked to get out the vote. He has written Voter Guides for the 2021, 2023, and 2025 Texas Constitutional Amendment Elections and hosted a recent Town Hall to share his work with precinct and county voters ahead of the election.
At the County level, Wright has twice stepped up to serve as County Chairman when vacancies arose. He has served as an early voting Poll Worker for nearly every Lamar County election the past four years. He has worked with the Republican County Executive Committee to facilitate the County Conventions. He has attended and helped facilitate numerous Republican Candidate Forums, Town Halls, Meet & Greet’s, the Pat Fallon debate leading up to the 2022 General Election, and the Trump Parades.
At the State level, he was one of 16 Lamar County 2024 Convention Delegates where the Republican Party Platform and Legislative Priorities were finalized and voted on. The State Convention Delegates also elect the Republican Party of Texas (RPT) senior leadership (State Chair, Vice Chair, and State Republican Executive Committeewoman and Committeeman), and the RNC Delegates. He has given testimony in favor of HB 900 which was later signed into law and now stands as a pillar to the RPT Legislative Priority to Stop Sexualizing Texas Kids.
