On Jan. 29, a Detective with the Northeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force received notification that a vehicle entered as stolen out of San Antonio was returning a GPS location in Paris. The vehicle was not found at the GPS location but was located in a recovery lot on North Main Street. The lot staff had a valid Order of Repossession from the lien holder and requested to take possession of the vehicle. The detective confirmed the information and notified the San Antonio Police Department.
On Jan. 29, a Paris Police Officer arrived in the 3000 block of NE Loop 286 to a disturbance first reported in the 2400 block of North Main Street. An 84-yearold male stated the suspect, 38-year-old family member Jessica Leigh Wintermute, who lives with the victim and his wife, was intoxicated and had assaulted him and his 69-year-old wife. Having observed injuries on the male, the officer took the suspect into custody and charged her with two counts of 3rd Degree Felony Injury to a Child, Elderly, Disabled Individual W/Intent to cause Bodily Injury and booked into the Paris jail.
The Paris Police Department responded to 57 Calls for Service, made 1 Adult Arrest, and Initiated 13 Traffic Stops.
