Chisum Art students had tremendous success at the STATE VASE Art Contest last weekend in San Marcos.
Participating students include Freshmen Blaine Holland, Celesity Perry, Maricruz Teran, and Gracyn Whitaker, as well Sophomore Ansley Fisher, and Senior Boston Springfield.
These students qualified for the State Event last February.
VASE had 33,127 total entries statewide this year, with 2,342 qualifying for the 2024 State Event.
Only 1,418 artworks earned medals at state.
Five out of seven artworks from Chisum earned state gold medals, five out of six students.
This is one of the highest honors an art student can receive in Texas.
The contest is sponsored every year by The Texas Art Education Association.
“Please congratulate these students for their remarkable achievement,” said Chisum ISD Art Department.
