First UMC Paris, along with more than 70 UMC across Texas, will host a ‘Blue Christmas’ service on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m.
Blue Christmas services provide space for individuals to acknowledge their difficult emotions, connect with others who share similar experiences and find hope and comfort.
“While the holiday season can be filled with joy and celebration for many, for others, it can be a time of sadness, loneliness or anxiety. We offer a warm and welcoming place for those who are struggling.”
In addition to hosting services, the Horizon Texas Conference has also curated a resource bank for those who are experiencing a blue Christmas. These resources, as well as an interactive map of Blue Christmas services, are available at offerhopenow.com.
