The men’s group at First Christian Church are getting prepared to welcome all first responders, including DPS, Game Wardens, career and volunteer personnel throughout Lamar County, once again to their monthly breakfast serving.

“We are excited to welcome all those that help keep our community safe and serve them a hot homemade breakfast,” Ronnie Nutt said.

Breakfast serving times will be from 8:15-9:30 a.m., and this month’s menu will be pancakes and sausage, with orange juice and Paris Coffee Company coffee.

“December is a special month as we will give each first responder two books relating to their first responder work and stress, a mini screwdriver set, and an American Flag lapel pin to wear with pride from the 1867 corporation,” Nutt said of the special Christmas presents being handed out.

All staff on duty who attend can grab a to-go box for your dispatch staff who will not be able to be there in person.

“We appreciate the support of our monthly effort to show our appreciation to all First Responders who work to keep us safe 24/7,” Nutt said.

Also, starting this Saturday is the men’s group supplying lunch for the homeless at Paris City Square.

“After our first responder breakfasts, we will put together a lunch for our homeless at Paris City Square after they put out the call for volunteers,” Nutt said.

He added that the group was excited to be able to help more people in the community and make this a regular occurrence from now on.
