The city of Paris shared the schedule of events for the upcoming Festival of Pumpkins, which begins at 9 a.m. on Oct. 23, featuring many contests and several attractions for a fun-filled day.
Starting at 9 a.m., when the festival begins, there will be several vendors serving up food, crafts and more. There will also be live music playing, alongside contests and attractions such as free train rides, and kids games. The contests will offer cash prizes.
At 9:30 a.m., Rags O’Hooligan will perform until 10:30 a.m.
From 9-10 a.m., registration for the decorated pumpkins contest will be open. Lamar County Humane Association Pet Look-a-Like contest and pageant will open and registration will be on Clarksville street. LCHA’s contest will begin at 10 a.m. Costume contest registration will be at Main Street’s tent on East Plaza. Registration ends 15 minutes before each contest. Main Street’s costume contest for 0-3 years of age will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Voting for favorite decorated pumpkins begins at 10:30 a.m., and pumpkins will be located by the clock in Downtown Paris on the S.E. side of the fountain. Pumpkin decorating winners will be announced at 12:30 p.m.
At 11:15 a.m., Main Street’s costume contest for 4-7 year olds begins; and at 12 p.m., 8-12 year old costume contest begins.
At 12:30 p.m., music on the main stage will feature Wesley Malone and Max Jones until 1:30 p.m.
The Historical Marker dedication for the Wagon Yard at 119 N. Main Street, North of Lamar County Courthouse, will be at 1:30 p.m.
From 2-3 p.m., Music on Main Stage will feature Mixed Society. From 3:30-5 p.m., Music on Main Stage will feature Tin & Tonic.
