On Thursday evening, August 6, 2026, at approximately 9:35 p.m., officers with the Paris Police Department responded to the 4500 block of SE Loop 286 in reference to reports of an auto-pedestrian collision.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male who had sustained fatal injuries after apparently being struck by a pickup truck while attempting to cross the roadway. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck initially left the scene but was later identified and has since been cooperating with investigators.
No charges have been filed at this time, and the matter is currently under investigation.
Officers made 22 traffic stops, 0 adult arrests, and answered 78 calls for service during this reporting period.
