Dorothy Jane Beard Whitesides, 88, of Memphis, TN went to be with her Savior on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
Memorial Service will be held Wednesday May 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Pollard Chapel at Bellevue Baptist Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Graveside will held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11 AM at Chicota Cemetary in Chicota, TX.
She was born July 9, 1935 to William Love Beard Jr. and Martha Pearl. She grew up in Paris, TX where she met the love of her life, James Edwin Whitesides. They were married for 28 years. She loved hymns, travelling, and spending time with her 3 daughters, 12 grandkids, and 37 great grandkids. She travelled back and forth to Texas to care for her family there. She loved encouraging people and telling fictional stories to her grandkids and great grandkids that have been passed down through generations.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son-in-law, Mike Golding.
She is survived by her siblings Peggy Stinson, Billy Beard, and Susan Snodgrass; her daughters, Cynthia Byrd (Steve), Nancy Clark (Kerry), and Pam Golding, 12 grandkids, and 37 great-grandkids.
