Doris Smallwood Carroll, 90, of Paris, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Smallwood officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carroll, the daughter of Dan & Arlene Maggard Grooms, was born May 26, 1928, in Paris.
She was a homemaker and a longtime, faithful member of the Church of God. Doris blessed many by ministering at local nursing homes.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Coy Smallwood, a son, Gary Smallwood, a sister, Geraldine Smallwood and a brother, Charles Grooms.
Survivors include three children; Judy Bruce & husband Wayne of Keller, Danny Smallwood & wife Mirim of Powderly and Dawn Ballard & husband Dolan of Paris, grandchildren; Tonya Johnson, Phillip Smallwood & wife Tami, Jeremy Smallwood, Coydean Harmon & wife Ashleigh and Bailey Ballard, great-grandchildren; Madelyn, Annabelle, Caroline, Elijah, Ashton, Sophie, and Oliver, one sister, Virginia Stripland & husband Skip of Paris along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be Coydean Harmon, Ricky Latham, Phillip Smallwood, Elijah Smallwood, Ronnie Grooms, Tonya Johnson & Bailey Ballard.
