David Paul Rodgers, 70, of Deport, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, at his home.
Cremation was under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
David, the son of Milton D. Rodgers and Amanda Gertrude McMikel Rodgers, was born Oct. 3, 1954, in Clarksville, TX.
He graduated from Paris High School and then joined the United States Army where he served until being honorably discharged. David worked several years at Uarco and Campbell Soup. He then operated the rural delivery of The Paris News for Clarksville and Blossom until his retirement. David had a love for animals, especially his dog Frank. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed riding 4-wheelers with his son, Tate, and others.
His parents and three siblings, Prentice Rodgers, Bill Rogers, and Shirley Turpin, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Tatom Rodgers, whom he married on Nov. 10, 1978, building 46 years of family and memories, two children, Tate Rodgers and wife Shannon and Whitney Blackwell and husband Raleigh, three grandchildren, Makenna Rodgers, Kace Rodgers, and Hendrix Marshall and several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.
