Cleo Christine Woolston entered heaven on Aug. 22, 2018, after 97 years of a full and happy active Christian life.

She was born on Oct. 16, 1920, in Carrollton, MO, to Shelby and Rebecca Mayden. She was the youngest of 12 children. They all preceded her in death.

Cleo married Harry Ernest Woolston on Oct. 14, 1941. This was a happy union of 63 years. He also preceded her in death.

She loved ministering to young parents with small children for over 50 years. Through First Baptist Church, she worked in Cradle Roll, many times enrolling babies only a few hours old. From there she graduated to and became an active member of the Berean Bible Club.

In the 1980’s she orchestrated the weekend volunteer Meals on Wheels program, which is still active. A true and devout Christian, she served her church and spent much time visiting shut-ins and the homebound. She spent countless hours volunteering at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She made sure she was the first smiling face you saw when entering the south campus.

She is cherished and remembered by two children, Vicki Biard of Powderly and Dwight Woolston of Paris, grandchildren, Angie & Jay Samide and their children, Bailey, A. J., Addison, and Mackinly; Lori & Aaron Benson and their children, Reagan, Parker and Carter.

The family would like to express appreciation for her personal caregivers, Susan, our wonderful hospice nurse with Waterford Hospice, and the caring staff of Heritage House of Paris.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 10:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24th, at Providence Cemetery with Rev. Jim Semple officiating. A formal visitation will not be scheduled, however, those wishing may pay respects at the funeral home.
