Chisum ISD and Paris ISD have been recognized as Texas Mother-Friendly Worksites by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
“This designation reflects their commitment to supporting working mothers and creating healthier, more family-friendly workplaces,” said the Paris-Lamar County Health District and WIC Services.
Texas Mother-Friendly Worksites are businesses that support employees who choose to breastfeed their infants by providing:
- Flexible scheduling for lactation breaks
- Access to a private location for the expression of breastmilk at work
- Availability of a sink and clean water source for washing hands and cleaning breast pump equipment
- Hygienic storage options for mothers to safely store expressed milk
“Special thanks to Kristi Garner and Superintendent Tommy Chalaire at Chisum ISD and Caleb Tindell and Superintendent Althea Dixon at Paris ISD for their leadership and dedication behind the scenes. PLCHS is proud to support both districts in achieving this milestone. Thank you for prioritizing the health and well-being of your staff and community.”
