Carrie Jo Gates, 60, of Lamar Point, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at Baylor All Saints Hospital in Ft. Worth. The family will schedule a gathering and memorial service at a later date. Cremation was under the care and direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.
Carrie, the daughter of J. W. Oldacre and Shirley Green Oldacre, was born Feb. 21, 1964, in Dumas, TX. She graduated from Wills Point High School and attended the University of North Texas. Carrie later became a hairstylist and worked a number of years.
Her parents and a daughter, Hailey Payne, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Gates, son, Wade Payne, daughter, Paige Johnson (Russ), son, Chris Gates, granddaughter, Amelia Johnson, and a brother, Jeff Oldacre, along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of ones choice.
