Over 100 dancers from Lamar Britney’s Steppin Out Dance Studio will bring Disney to Paris this weekend at their Spring Recital.

Britney Drake owner and artistic director with her namesake dance studio is excited to present this years spring recital with her students.

“Our show has professional sound and lights, plus our set will look just like Cinderella’s Castle,” Drake excitedly said, “ we’re bringing Disney to Paris!”

Starting at 2 p.m. this Saturday, June 29 at North Lamar High School’s auditorium; students of the dance studio will hit the stage as they get set to dazzle the audience as they ‘Dance at Disney’

“Sharing my passion for dance with my dancers and my community is the icing on the cake. This show is going to be incredible!”, Drake said.

From solo acts to group performances, there will be over 105 dancers who will dance through 19 performances including a special father/daughter dance.

“In 2017 Britney implemented a scholarship program for underprivileged kids called the ‘Steppin’ Out in Faith’ scholarship,” MC Katie Dixon explained, “this is a great scholarship that she created because it allows kids who may be can’t afford to take lessons to still express their love of the art.”

The scholarship this year will be awarded to three lucky recipients and Drake will acknowledge the kindness from sponsors during a short break in the show.

Also aiding in the funding for the scholarship is a raffle table with tons of fabulous gifts suited to anyone in the family that will be set up in the lobby on Saturday. Tickets will cost $5 each, or $25 for an arm’s length, or $50 for a head to length if you are really feeling lucky!

After the performances have completed Drake will take the stage with her teachers and present a number of certificates and awards to her studio’s dancers who have shown true love, commitment, ‘steppin’ up’ throughout the past year.

“These kids are fabulous and have worked so hard,” Drake said, “our studio philosophy is teaching our dancers about performing arts through discipline, determination, self-confidence, and self-respect. We have had so many blessings over the past year and I couldn’t be more proud of all my dancers, dance parents, teachers and everyone that has helped support us.”

As the curtain fades on Saturday night for the recital, Drake and her teachers won’t be taking a ‘summer break’, as they are set to kick straight into a summer dance camp at the local studio for the kids that just can’t stop tapping away to the sound of their own beat.
