Betty Elaine Scaff, 72, of Powderly, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on June 1, 2019. She was born on November 11, 1946, in Paris, Texas, to James and Betty Jean Lynch. She leaves behind her husband, Roger N. Scaff, daughter Carin Campbell (Sid), and grandchildren Caleb Melton (Ashley), Chelsea Fleckenstein (James), Garrett Driskill, Carmen Driskill, and Jacob Campbell, great granddaughter Eivør Melton, mother, sister Jimmie Gayle Kruntorad (John), two sisters-in-law, Nancy Jill Scaff and Bonnie Scaff, several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

Betty was a 1965 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Midland, Texas. She received a B.S. in Education from Texas Tech University and a M. S. in Special Education from Texas Women’s University. She was employed for thirty years as a teacher in the Sanger ISD and for an additional twelve years at The Dollar General Stores in Paris and Powderly. Betty was member of the Paris Community Choir and the Old Time Gospel Singers. She was a faithful member of Bounds Baptist Church serving as pianist for serval years. She was an avid Texas Rangers fan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3rd, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bright- Holland Funeral Home in Paris, Texas. The funeral service will be conducted at Bright Holland Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 4th, 2:00 p.m. with interment at Red Hill Cemetery, Powderly, Texas. The Rev. Fred Fangio will officiate being assisted by Gary Monroe.

Pall bearers will be Bobby Self, Dickie Self, Sonny Daughtrey, Freddy Daughtrey, Darrell Daughtrey, and Chad Ward.
