A benefit has been set for March 10th, 2019, for a local man severely injured in a wreck back in December between Bogata and Talco.

Justin Exum suffered extensive injuries due to a vehicle collision with an eighteen-wheeler that occurred on December 13, 2018.

“Justin broke twenty-one bones, has a head injury, and burns to his left shoulder and arms,” said Exum’s family.

Exum is under 24-hour care and at this time is unable to walk for what is being told to the family by doctors to be for another two months.

“Justin is undergoing a rehabilitation process to help with his recovery from this unfortunate accident.”

Doctors have informed the family that he may be out of work for up to a year; possibly longer.

A benefit has been set for Sunday, March 10th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Elk’s Lodge in Paris, Texas in order to help see Exum and his family through this trying time.

There will be an auction and anyone wishing to donate can drop items off at North Texas Fab, 5690 Lamar Ave.

The event will feature local musicians Wade White, Stacy Musgrave, and Merrol Ray.

Pulled pork sandwiches, beans & chips will be served to those attending.

Tickets are 10$ for adults and $5 for children ages 5 & under.

All proceeds will go directly towards the benefit of Justin and his family, donations are also currently being accepted.
