North Lamar Transportation Director Clint Hildreth, left, recognized Mark Russell as the school bus driver of the month for September.
Russell, an ELAR instructional coach for the district, has been driving a school bus at North Lamar for 12 years.
“I do it because it is a nice supplemental income where the hours are convenient,” said Russell as to why he chooses to drive both a morning and afternoon route.
Russell was recognized because of his safety record through the years and for going above and beyond in putting his student riders first.
Each month a driver will be recognized and presented a certificate for a free hamburger meal sponsored by Burgerland.
