The North Lamar Education Foundation hosted its 3rd Annual Burger Wars, bringing together 11 North Lamar organizations for a night of great food, friendly competition, family fellowship and plenty of Panther spirit.
The overall winner was North Lamar Baseball, who also won best side for its brisket mac and cheese with BBQ sauce.
North Lamar Basketball won Best Burger with its “Wok-This-Way,” an Asian-inspired burger with sweet and spicy BBQ glaze, pickled cucumbers, fried onions and yum-yum sauce.
Best Dessert went to North Lamar Softball for its churro cupcake topped with a homemade churro. North Lamar Softball also won People’s Choice, earning $250 back for their organization through donations made at their booth.
North Lamar Baseball’s overall-winning menu included a jalapeño berry jam burger with Gouda cheese, brisket mac and cheese and a Biscoff cupcake.
