Theft Investigation Leads to Felony Arrest
On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at approximately 11:48 a.m., Paris Police Department officers were conducting an investigation after possible stolen property was located outside a location in the 2500 block of Bonham Street.
Officers had previously received information that the individual suspected of stealing the property was known to frequent the location. During the investigation, officers observed the male suspect exit the location, retrieve the property in question, and leave the area with it.
Officers subsequently stopped the suspect in the 2400 block of West Kaufman Street. During the investigation, officers confirmed that the property was the item previously reported stolen. The suspect also admitted to his involvement in the theft.
The male was placed under arrest for Theft of Property Under $2,500 with Previous Convictions, a felony offense. The stolen property was recovered and later returned to its rightful owner.
The suspect was transported to the Lamar County Jail and processed without further incident.
Assault on Hospital Staff Results in Felony Arrest
On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at approximately 6:24 p.m., Paris Police Department officers were dispatched to Paris Regional Health, located at 865 Deshong Drive, in reference to a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that a male patient in the emergency room had assaulted a member of the hospital staff.
The male was placed under arrest for Assault of a hospital staff member, a felony offense.
The suspect was transported to the Lamar County Jail and processed without incident.
Armed Disturbance Leads to Multiple Felony Charges
During the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Paris Police Department officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 1900 block of Cedar Street.
Officers were informed that a male involved in the disturbance had displayed a firearm and pointed it at several individuals before fleeing the area.
Officers located the suspect in the 2000 block of Polk Street. During the investigation, officers determined that the suspect had concealed the firearm in an attempt to prevent officers from locating it, and subsequently recovered the firearm.
The male was placed under arrest and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, all felony offenses.
The suspect was transported to the Lamar County Jail and processed without further incident.
Officers made 18 traffic stops, made 5 adult arrest, and answered 82 calls for service during this reporting period.
