It is with profound sadness and immeasurable love that we announce the passing of Elza Haley, who entered eternal rest on August 20, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born on January 2, 1942, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Elza lived a life defined by love, faith, devotion, and family. She devoted her life to being a loving wife and mother, always placing the needs and happiness of those she loved before her own. Her family was the center of her world, and the love she gave will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Elza was a proud graduate of The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Psychology and a master’s degree in Journalism. She continued her education by earning a Master’s in Mission Ministry from For His Glory Bible College. Her dedication to learning and service reflected her lifelong commitment to faith, growth, and helping others.
Elza was the beloved wife of Brian, with whom she shared a life filled with love, companionship, and cherished memories. Together, they built a family surrounded by love and devotion.
She was the proud and loving mother of Danielle, Brigette, Brent, Rebecca, Benjamin, Myiah, Dorian, Sarah, and Sean. She was also blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life: Michael, Andrew, Madeline, Arric, Grace, Jacob, Callum, Mia, Charlotte, and Noah.
Elza found joy in the simple and beautiful moments of life. She loved reading and traveling, but nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her husband and children. Her presence was a source of comfort, warmth, and unconditional love.
Above all else, Elza was a devoted woman of faith. She loved The Lord, and her life reflected that love through her kindness, strength, grace, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was evident in the way she loved and cared for others.
Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy of love and faith will live on through the many lives she touched. She leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever and a family who will carry her love with them always.
Elza will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
