Malcolm Paul Thompson, age 77, a lifelong resident of Blossom, Texas, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on August 29, 2026, at his home. He was born on December 19, 1948, in Paris, Texas, to Norris Thompson and Betty Pauline Thompson (Brunson).
Malcolm graduated from Blossom High School in 1967 and proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and Reserves. He later furthered his education by attending Paris Junior College and graduating from the AutoCAD program. Malcolm enjoyed a dedicated career as a pipeline X-ray technician working for B&W and Turner Industries.
Above all, Malcolm cherished time spent with his family, filling home and gatherings with warmth and steady devotion. He found great peace in nature and the outdoors, whether admiring local landscapes with family or quiet fishing days. A patient craftsman, he brought meticulous precision and care to building and flying model airplanes, delighting in every step of the process. Central to his daily life was his deep commitment to studying the Bible, a spiritual practice that anchored his faith, guided his character, and inspired those around him.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at East Post Oak Missionary Baptist Church, located at 5987 FM1502, Blossom, TX 75416. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. Afterward, he will be laid to rest at East Post Oak Cemetery during a brief graveside service.
Malcolm is survived by his loving wife Shelia Thompson; devoted sister, Norrine Williams and her husband Gary; his children, Lori Wells and husband Charles, Laci Thomas and husband Alan, and Lesa Thompson and her husband Michael Dumont.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Mathew Wells, Kelsey Wells and partner Zane, Benjamin Thompson and partner Chloe, Bethany Thompson, and Théophile, Elzéard, Gabriel, Neil, Josephine, and Louis Thomas; his great-grandchildren, Addley Sanchez, Laila Sanchez, Abel Thompson, and Atlas Thompson; his nephew, Michael Williams and his wife Laura; his great-nieces, Amanda Boykin and husband Tim, and Christy Little and her husband Blake; his great-great nephew, Canyon Little; as well as numerous cousins and many dear friends.
Malcolm is preceded in eternal rest by his parents Norris Thompson and Betty Pauline Thompson (Brunson).
