On Friday morning, August 28, 2026, at approximately 9:22 a.m., officers with the Paris Police Department were dispatched to a welfare concern in the 100 block of West Washington Street. Upon arrival, officers located a female asleep inside a vehicle that was running and parked in the right-of-way.
Officers made contact with the female driver and determined that she was intoxicated. She was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.
While being transported to the jail, the female attempted to conceal a glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine in the rear seat of the patrol vehicle. As a result, she was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1/1B, Less Than One Gram, and Tampering with Physical Evidence with Intent to Conceal, both felony offenses.
The female was transported to the jail and booked without further incident.
Officers made 45 traffic stops, made 11 adult arrests, and answered 200 calls for service during this reporting period.
