On July 16, Officers observed a male subject in the 2000 block of Lamar Avenue, whom they knew to have active arrest warrants. As officers attempted to make contact, the subject fled on foot. After a brief search, officers located the subject hiding underneath a vehicle in the 2200 block of Lamar Avenue and took him into custody without further incident.
During a search incident to arrest, officers discovered the subject was in possession of multiple identifying documents belonging to several different victims. In addition to being arrested on his outstanding warrants, the subject was charged with Evading Arrest/Detention, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information (5<10 Items), a Third-Degree Felony.
On July 17, Officers responded to the 3400 block of Millers Place in reference to a reported Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. During the investigation, officers learned that an unknown suspect unlawfully entered the victim’s vehicle and stole a handgun from inside. The incident remains under investigation.
