Paris ISD students in grades 1–6 enjoyed an exciting summer learning experience during the district’s annual WildCAMP, now in its sixth year of providing free summer enrichment opportunities for Wildcat students. Since its launch in the summer of 2021, WildCAMP has continued to give students meaningful opportunities to learn, explore, and have fun during their summer break.
Hosted at Paris High School, WildCAMP provided students with a fun-filled opportunity to learn, create, explore, and make lasting memories through a variety of hands-on classes designed to spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and build confidence. Campers participated in sessions including Outdoor Adventure, Cooking, Cheer, Volleyball, Boot Camp, Crafting, Photography, Stitching, Woodworking, Introduction to Agriculture, Science, Wreath Making, Painting, and Coding.
“WildCAMP is one of the highlights of our summer because it gives students the opportunity to continue learning while having fun alongside their friends,” said Paris ISD Assistant Superintendent Caleb Tindel. “Our goal is to expose students to new experiences, encourage them to discover new interests, and help them build lasting memories in a positive environment.”
Throughout the camp, students explored new hobbies, developed practical skills, stayed active, and enjoyed interactive learning experiences led by Paris ISD teachers, staff members, and volunteers. A nutritious lunch was provided for all campers each day.
WildCAMP’s success was made possible by the dedication of Paris ISD employees, community support, and Paris High School student volunteers who invested their time and talents to create an unforgettable experience for every camper.
“This was my first year coordinating WildCAMP, and the support from our teachers and Ms. Sartor made it an incredible experience,” said WildCAMP Coordinator Regan Plata. “Our teachers created engaging, hands-on classes that students truly enjoyed. Paris ISD is fortunate to be able to offer WildCAMP free of charge to our students, giving them opportunities to learn, explore new interests, and make lasting summer memories.”
Paris ISD extends its sincere appreciation to the families who entrusted their children to WildCAMP and to the teachers, staff members, volunteers, and student helpers who made this year’s camp another outstanding success. The district looks forward to continuing the WildCAMP tradition for many summers to come.
