The Paris Police Department welcomed two new officers on June 30 as Officer Jackson Abney and Officer Joshua Adams took the oath of office after graduating from the North Central Texas Council of Governments Regional Police Academy in Arlington, where they completed six months of training.
During the academy, Abney demonstrated leadership as a Squad Leader, while Adams earned Academic Honors and was recognized for achieving the third-highest GPA in his graduating class.
Both officers graduated from the academy on June 23 after successfully completing the Texas peace officer licensing examination.
Abney and Adams were sworn in by City of Paris Deputy City Clerk Skylar Unger during a ceremony attended by family members, friends, and fellow officers.
