Glenna Faye Harper, 94, of Powderly, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Heritage House of Paris.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, at The Gospel Lighthouse Church, with Rev. Chris Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home.

Faye was born on August 15, 1931, in the Jennings Community of Lamar County to Herman L. Hoover and Virgie Dudley Hoover. She graduated from Deport High School and dedicated many years to hard work and service throughout her life. Her career began with Swift Packing Company, followed by employment with the East Lamar School lunchroom. She later spent many years working at the laundromat behind the historic Gibraltar Hotel.

A devoted member of The Gospel Lighthouse Church, Faye lived a life marked by faith, perseverance, and love for her family. As a single mother, she lovingly raised four daughters, creating a close-knit family whose bond remains strong today. Her strength, determination, and unwavering commitment to her children left a lasting legacy that will continue through generations.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Ricky Marshall; and her siblings, Raymond Hoover, Lawrence Ray Hoover, Juanita Russell, Charles Dudley Hoover, and Margaret Wadley.

Faye is survived by her daughters, Peggy Marshall; Dorothy Newberry and husband Bob; Loretta Edwards and husband Joe; and Barbara Harper. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 39 great-great- grandchildren, her sister Helen Hively, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

Faye will be remembered for her steadfast faith, strong work ethic, and deep love for her family. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
