While National College Decision Day is traditionally observed on May 1, Paris High School (PHS) celebrated the milestone on April 30 due to the district’s academic calendar. The event honored members of the Class of 2026 as they announced their plans for life after graduation and marked an important step in their academic journeys.
Students took center stage during the celebration, proudly sharing the colleges, universities, career paths, and military commitments they will pursue after high school. The event created an atmosphere filled with excitement and pride as classmates, staff, and families gathered to support and celebrate each senior’s achievements.
The program also featured a special guest speaker, Nayeli Mendoza, a 2020 PHS graduate, who delivered an inspiring message encouraging students to embrace new opportunities and remain confident as they transition into their next chapter.
As part of the celebration, seniors who had completed and submitted all required paperwork to senior counselor Mrs. Wilkins were entered into a drawing. One student, Mary Jane Torres Vega, was selected as the recipient of a new laptop generously donated by Harrison, Walker & Harper (HWH). The gift will provide valuable support as the student prepares for college.
“College Decision Day is a meaningful opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of our seniors,” said Paris High School Principal Chris Vaughn. “We are proud of each of our students and excited to see the impact they will make as they move forward.”
The event reflected Paris ISD’s ongoing commitment to preparing students for success beyond graduation while celebrating the accomplishments of its seniors.
