On Apr. 2, Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 3100 block of Lamar Avenue. They made contact with one of the drivers, Shandie Danielle Ayers (41) of Paris. Ayers could not provide proof of insurance for her vehicle nor could it be confirmed via digital means. The vehicle was seized per department policy for a non insured vehicle. As officers investigated the accident, a warrant check was performed on Ayers and it was discovered that she had an open warrant for Theft over $750.00 under $25,000.00 Ayers was arrested on the warrant. As her vehicle was being inventoried prior to towing, narcotics and paraphernalia were discovered in the console of the vehicle. In the trunk of the vehicle prescription pills not prescribed to Ayers, a handgun, and ammunition were located. Ayers, a convicted felon, was also charged with Possession of Controlled Substance X 2 and Unlawful possession of a Firearm by a Felon. She was booked and taken to county jail.
On Apr. 2, Officers went to the 3900 block of N. Main, The District Parole Office, and arrested Ryan Casey Butler (46) on an outstanding Parole Violation Warrant. While searching Butler subsequent to arrest, the officer found him to be in possession of cocaine. Butler was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance in addition to the Parole Warrant.
On Apr. 3, Officers responded to a disturbance call in the 2300 block of E. Cherry. They arrived and made contact with a 65 year old male who advised that he had been assaulted by Jerry Larry Dillard (66). The victim advised he answered his door and was immediately struck by Dillard who hit him with fist and kicked him until he lost consciousness. The victim was fearful to report the incident due to retaliation by Dillard. The victim advised that he was disabled. Dillard was found in the area and was in a state of intoxication. He admitted to being in the altercation but denied his being the aggressor. The victim had obvious injuries and Dillard had none. Comments Dillard made substantiated the victims story. Dillard was arrested and charged with Injury to an Elderly or Disabled Individual, a Felony of the 3rd Degree. He was transported to the police department where he was uncooperative with the booking process. He was placed in jail until he could be processed.
On Apr. 4, After responding to an injury accident in the 2400 block of Stillhouse Rd, officers made contact with Isabell Jordan Rodgers (26) of Paris. Rodgers was one of the drivers involved in the accident and was found to be intoxicated. Rodgers was also found to have two previous convictions for Driving While Intoxicated. She was charged with DWI 3rd or More, a Felony. Rodgers was processed and taken to county jail.
On Apr. 4, Officers received a report of an assault occurring in the 400 block of Grand Avenue. The 37 year old victim advised that a known suspect had broken her window her window and then had assaulted her by hitting her with his fist and then choking her. Witnesses in a nearby residence advised they had heard the commotion but were not aware what was happening. The incident is under investigation and an Emergency Protective Order was requested.
On Apr. 6, Officers stopped Tyler Lee Trammel (29) in the 200 block of SW 7th for a traffic violation. A warrant check revealed Trammel to have an outstanding warrant for the charge of Assault of a Family Member with Previous Convictions, a Felony. Trammel was arrested without incident.
Officers made 116 traffic stops, 18 adult arrest, and answered 289 calls for service during this reporting period.
