James Russell Holland, 85, of Paris, passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 19 th at the Evergreen Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Ray Evers and Rev. Samuel Evers officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 Wednesday at the funeral home.
Russell, the son of James Donald Holland and Lora Mae Owens Holland, was born March 13, 1940, in Paris, TX. His career with Babcock and Wilcox spanned 31 years before his retirement. He spent most of his time helping others and loving the Lord, working at his church (Pathway Church of God) and even helped build their new church. Russell was an avid hunter and fisherman and especially loved hosting fish fries for family and friends. He raced dirt track for many, many years. When he retired from racing, he was always there supervising his sons and grandson as they raced.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter-in-law, Angela Holland, three sisters, Linda Stiff, Barbara Ann Webster, and Jimmie Mae Hutchings, one brother, Pete Holland, and three grandchildren, Angela Kent, Madison Brockway, and Ryder Holland.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Linda Graham Holland, a brother, Buddy Holland (Cathy), sons, Rusty Holland and Billy Holland (Jessica), daughters, Laura Ingelido (Steve), Tammy Goodman (Lesily), Kathy Pumphrey (Mark), and Katina Brockway (Mark). Russell and Linda had a total of 29 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
