Bobby Don Whitaker, 88, of Paris, passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, at his home.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31st at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Lawson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Private burial will be made in Restland Cemetery at Roxton.
Mr. Whitaker, the son of Jesse Monroe Whitaker and Minnie Hayes Whitaker, was born March 13, 1937, in Red River County, TX. He attended Red River County Schools. Bobby’s career as a home builder spanned 45 years.
His parents and two sisters, Thelma Nell Posey and Lois Staley, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Staley Whitaker, whom he married in 1964, building 64 years of family and memories, children, Jennifer Whitaker and Ryan Scott Whitaker (Heather), nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The family would like to extend appreciation to his caregivers: Bailee Syrus, Britney McCulloch, and Zaniya Adamson for the loving attention given to Bobby. A special thank you goes to the owners/employees of Burgerland, McKee’s, and Southern Maid Donuts for always being a friend to Bobby and providing a place he loved to be.
