On Sept. 12, Officers were notified of a vehicle accident in the 2400 block of N. Main. Lamar County deputies were on scene and had Angelo Valdivia (23) in custody. They advised that Valdivia had been found passed out in his vehicle after the accident, was highly intoxicated, and had resisted arrest and spat on one of the deputies during the arrest. Post arrest, officers located marijuana in Valdivia’s vehicle. Valdivia was charged with DWI, Possession of Marijuana, Resisting Arrest, and Harassment of a Public Servant, a Felony.
On Sept. 13, Officers stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of NW 19th St. They contacted the driver identified as Stormie Waggoner (44) Waggoner was found to be in possession of an open can of an alcoholic beverage. A smell of marijuana led to officers having Waggoner to empty her pockets. She was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine, which she identified as such. Waggoner was questioned as to having further narcotics prior to entry to the jail. She denied any further possession. Once in the city jail, Waggoner was searched by a female dispatcher who located a pipe for smoking methamphetamine as well as a small amount of marijuana concealed on Waggoner’s person. Waggoner was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Prohibited Substance in a corrections facility.
On Sept. 13, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of 7th NW in regards to theft of copper. A contractor advised that his HVAC company has been installing copper int the vacant apartments there in preparation for remodeling. Some unknown person is stealing the copper by cutting it off in various lengths. Incident is under investigation.
On SEpt. 15, Officers responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of 24th NW. They stopped a white male later identified as Jarrick Dalton Watkins (30) leaving the area of the disturbance. Watkins had an outstanding warrant for Possession of a Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility out of Red River County Texas. He was arrested on the warrant and transferred to Lamar County Jail.
Officers made 49 traffic stops, 6 adult arrest, and answered 338 calls for service during this reporting period.
