On August 1st, 2026, at about 0247 hours, officers of the Paris Police Department were patrolling in the 10 block of NW 12th when they observed a male riding a bicycle without a rear reflector and stopped the subject. The male was identified, and officers could smell the odor of marijuana coming from his person. When asked about this, the male admitted to having a small amount of marijuana. After a further search, an additional small baggie was located and contained a crystal- like substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed under a gram. The male was then placed under arrest for Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1-b <1 Gram and booked in the Paris City Jail. He was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
During this period, Officers responded to 287 calls for service, made 15 arrests, and made 82 traffic stops.
