09/09 Officers were notified of a disturbance which involved an assault in the 1400 block of W. Kaufman St. The Complainant said that he and his live-in girlfriend were arguing and she wanted to leave with their child. The girlfriend called her father to pick them up. When the father arrived, the Complainant did not want the girlfriend to take the child. As the girlfriend and her father were leaving the scene the girlfriend “Charged” the Complainant. Her father grabbed her, the girlfriend, to keep her off of the Complainant. The Complainant then grabbed the father in a “Full Nelson” hold due to him not liking how the father had grabbed the girlfriend. The father freed himself from the hold and grabbed the Complainant by the neck, holding him thus for approximately 15-20 seconds. The father then released the Complainant and left with his daughter and the child. The Complainant did not wish to file charges. No other subjects involved in the call were contacted.
