North Lamar High School’s Devi Nair has earned a prestigious opportunity to represent her school and community on a national stage. From June 15-20, Nair will compete in Student Congress at the National Speech & Debate Championship, an event that gathers the nation’s top young debaters and public speakers.
The championship, hosted by the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA), is one of the most competitive and esteemed events in the country, bringing together students who have demonstrated exceptional skills in argumentation, critical thinking, and public speaking.
Nair’s qualification is a testament to her dedication, preparation, and talent in the field of debate. Competing in Student Congress, she will engage in rigorous debates, crafting and presenting legislative proposals while demonstrating persuasive speaking abilities.
