Nearly 383,000 Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator and Lincoln Corsair vehicles equipped with a 360-degree camera have been recalled due to the video output potentially failing, preventing the rearview camera image from displaying.
The recall covers 2020 to 2023 Ford Explorers and Lincoln Aviators and some 2020 to 2022 Lincoln Corsairs.
The company says it has more than 2,000 warranty reports about the problem. It’s aware of 17 minor crashes but no injuries.
Dealers will update the image processing module (IPMB) software, free of charge.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 20, 2023. Owner may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 23S02.
This recall expands and replaces NHTSA recall number 21V-735. Vehicles previously repaired under 21V-735 will need to have the new remedy performed.
