A Wright City, Oklahoma, man was shot after an altercation early Sunday morning, succumbing to the injury.
At about midnight, the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Tommy’s Bar just west of Fort Towson.
Choctaw Co. Sheriff Terry Parks said a Fort Towson man had an altercation inside the bar and was told to leave.
“The Fort Towson man goes outside and gets a firearm and fires several rounds into the building, striking a Wright City man who died at the scene,” Parks said.
As the suspect left the scene, and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was requested to help assist in the case.
“Deputies observed the suspect’s pickup and attempted to make contact with him,” Parks continued.
Parks said the suspect struck a tree on Tucker Road, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol worked the accident. The suspect was taken to Choctaw Memorial, and is being flown to another hospital due to broken bones.
“The Wright City man had only come to the bar to check on his wife, who worked there,” Parks said.
