Early voting for the Nov. 3 general election is still on the move in Lamar County, as more than 40 percent of county voters have already made their voices heard. Lamar County has more than 33,000 registered voters.
“We’re just under 12,000 ballots cast now,” Lamar County Elections Administrator Tricia Johnson said. “This is huge, you guys. And we’ve got four days and three hours to go.”
The last day to cast your ballot early is Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The polls for early voting remain open this week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lamar County Services building, 231 Lamar Ave.
According to reports from the Lamar County Elections Administration, numbers of early voters include:
- Monday – 1,185
- Tuesday – 958
- Wednesday – 780
- Thursday – 755
- Friday – 924
- Saturday – 322
- Mail-in ballots – 1,134
Total votes cast within the past two weeks: about 11,875
