The Paris Fire Department is now accepting applications for prospective firefighters to join the department.
If you think you have what it takes to become a firefighter, here are the details you need to know to be eligible to take this year’s entrance exam.
The examination will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. in the Paris Junior College Ballroom, 2400 Clarksville St., Paris, Texas, for the position of Probationary Firefighter in the Paris Fire Department.
Applications and Study Guides can be obtained at the City of Paris Finance Office, 135 1st S.E., Paris, Texas 75460, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. All completed applications for testing must be received in the Civil Service Director’s Office by Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. A photo ID will be required before being admitted to the testing facility.

To qualify as an applicant eligible for employment with the Paris Fire Department, the applicant must be between 18 and 36-years old. Be able to meet all requirements as specified in the APPLICATION FOR PFD FIREFIGHTER form PFDFRM:2A-3, which is available at the City of Paris Finance Office.
Either has obtained or be able to meet all legal requirements necessary to become eligible for future certification by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (for details see: http://www.tcfp.state.tx.us/standards/basic certification.asp) and the Texas Department of State Health Services for EMT-Basic certification (for more information see: http://www.dshs.state.tex.us/).
