Cooler weather has well and truly hit Lamar County and with many in need of heaters and blankets, Paris EMS was able to help 50 families with funds raised from their Fill-The-Boot campaign.

“Paris EMS uses 100% of the money collected during their annual Fill-The-Boot campaign to help Lamar County children and senior citizens,” said EMS Supervisor Russell Thrasher.

EMS Paramedics are celebrating the holidays by buying and delivering 50 space heaters, over $1000 worth from Wal-Mart, to the Lamar County Human Resource Council for distribution to the Meals-On-Wheels families who do not have adequate heat this winter.

“With the temperatures expected to be below freezing this week, these folks need some warmth, and we hope this helps a little”, says Paris EMS Paramedic John Janes.
