Thanksgiving tradition continues with the 45th Annual Turkey Trot on Thursday.
As COVID is mixed in the air with the aroma of roasting turkey, this year’s trot will be a little different.
“The city is requiring that everybody wear a mask when they’re not running,” PFA posted on social media. “We will have sanitation stations set up at each water stop, outside the bathrooms, and under the pavilion.”
Event day schedule:
- 7 a.m. – Registration
- 7:45 a.m. – Pre-Race Brief
- 8 a.m. – 1 Mile Fun Run
- 8:30 a.m. – 5K Run
- 8:45 a.m. – 2 Mile Walk
The city also requests no one gather underneath the pavilion while waiting on race results nor the starting line prior to the race.
“ … we would like to remind you that your time doesn’t start until you cross the starting line,” they continued. “We are so grateful to be able to host the 45th Annual Turkey Trot and see our community come together to continue this tradition.”
The 45th Annual Turkey Trot will start at the Love Civic Center’s sports pavilion and continue along Trail de Paris.
Timing chips will be on the bib number and the organization asks participants to allow time to pick up the bib prior to the event start. Bibs are required to be pinned on all four corners.
The organization also encourages pre-race packet pick up. Race packets are available at Paris Fitness and Aquatics Nov. 23-24 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be no registration nor packet pickup on Nov. 25.
